Well in the late 1960's as a teenager growing up in the San Fernando Valley,Arleta, CA. I use to ride my bike down an alley to the store. One house on the way had an above ground pool and a big deck around it that was level to the top of the fence. One day this big ferocious looking Bulldog was on that deck Barking & Snarling at me with his big teeth sticking out and scared me half to death, caught me off guard and I about fell off my bike. Well in the 70's I ended up dating a young man that lived at that house and was formally introduced to that ugly Bulldog named "Beau". The dog I was afraid of was the sweetest thing ever. I still thought "Beau" was pretty ugly though. But his personality was so overwhelming you could not help to fall in love with this dog, yeah I fell in love with the guy too, it's been almost 40yrs since then. After we got married my husband "Frank" kept saying he wanted a Bulldog since he left 'Beau" at home with his parents. Beau lived to the ripe old age of 12 and past away in his sleep. We were young and just starting out, Bulldogs are expensive, and as luck would have it we found our first Bulldog. She was a rescued Bulldog, solid white, age?? We named her "Tiny" she weighed about 60lbs.By this time our first born son was about one and half years old. Bringing ""Tiny home was really weird, there was no adjustment period, she came in the house, checked it out , found a comfy corner and took a nap. It was like she lived with us forever and was glad to be home. Not all Rescued dogs are like that, some can have issues. Tiny loved the Baby too.It was just meant to be. I grew up with Great Danes but was really liking the bullies. Later we got another Beautiful Bulldog with AKC papers,Champion Bloodlines. Next thing I knew, I started going to Dog Shows, and then puppies etc. There is nothing like a Bulldog!
